back to my friends car... 90 accord auto lx...blah blah

it seems to start up good...runs pretty good until the car warms up, then IF you stop and have the car in drive, it will die. IF you put it in neutral, it will not die.

Then, after you turn the car OFF, you cannot start it again for 30 minutes, it just cranks...but usually after about 30 min, it starts right up....WTF?

 

I had a similar problem on my very first car... a 1987 chevy cavalier
the timing was way off
it needed a new timing belt i believe

It's gotta be something like ignition, main relay, or even the engine/tranny ground wires?
Someone else had similar symptoms and it turns out his tranny ground wire was just loose/corroded.

 

think i checked the ground...i dunno, its just strange...

monday the car would NOT start at all

tuesday it started ALL THE TIME...over and over

wtf?

oh, monday it wasn't getting fuel to the rail...no fuel pressure...

90-93 Accords are notorious for main relay failure. check

 

ya know...before when the car wouldn't start we got a diff main relay...switched it and it didn't help...so we switched it back...might as well put the other one back in and see what happens with the current problems

 

Main relays very rarely cause stalling problems. When yours stalls, does it start right back up?
