I recently took the little rust off my wheel wheel, after sanding it down i applied the primer, then proceeded to paint it now I need to know how to get that glossy paint shine back on that part of the car. Appreciate the advice.. thanks

heres what i would do. hopfully the paint you used matched the color pretty well. get a can of clear coat, and tape off the area you didnt paint at all (and is still shiney) then wet sand down the area that isnt taped off with 600 grit sandpaper. you should have a thick enough color coat that you wont sand through it. clean the area off, and it will look grayish and shitty. dont worry. make sure you cant see any gloss though. then go ahead and spray two coats of clearcoat on, make sure you give the first one enought time to get tackless (you can touch it w/out it being stickey, id say about 30 minutes, make sure you dont get your fingerprints in it though. use common sense). then take the tape off and let it dry. therell be a line where the old clearcoat meets the new stuff. you can sand that down (i'd wait a couple of days to let the clearcoat dry fully) with 1600 grit sandpaper until its smooth, then use rubbing compound to polish those scratch marks out, then some polishing compound to get it shiney as hell (use 3M). its not going to be easy, and you have to be careful you dont sand through to the color coat. you picked a pretty tough job, and it probably wont look perfect, but at least it'll be protected, and look better than a rust hole. the only way to get it perfect is to buy a compressor, a good spray gun, and sand and repaint the entire panel. hope this helped.
