shaving weight on a 97 accord
Does anyone know what else I can do to shave weight on my 97accord besides taking out the seats, the whole interior, spare tire and spending an arm and a leg?

Get rid of your power steering, air conditioning, get drag wheels for the track, take off all the sound deadening, remove all the A/C lines and piping (just the compressor won't save as much weight).
Basically make it a damned shell. YOu can even rip out all the climate control

If you really want to cut weight, why not just sell the accord and get a civic hatchback? They weight about 2100 pounds stock, 800 pounds lighter than your 2900 pound accord. You can still put the H22 in it.

Exactly. I have a 97 Accord with a fully built and turbo h22 in it and its got a full interior. I did replace the seats wit Recaro SRDs and gutted the trunk but when you have that much power, a few hundred pounds is meaningless. AC, power steering, riding with passengers, you'll miss it all I guarantee you, and unless its gonna be a ***** to the wall drag car, you won't notice the difference E.T. wise.
BTW I used to live in Brunswick, ME. You have my pity
