Question: Speedo problem
My sister has a 2000 Accord EX V6. Her speedo would get stuck once it hit 50mph, then after a while, it will jump to the right speed. when slowing down, it will delay a while before it comes back down. First, does anyone know what is the problem? The speedo or the speed sensor?
If it is the speedo, does anyone know how to replace a speedo without messing with the trip meter? I know people said something about an indicator that comes on once the trip meter plug is pulled. I don't want the indicator to come on.
Help please

does she have indiglo guages?
If the VSS is bad, it will throw a check engine light.
AFAIK you should be able to replace just the speedo in the cluster without causing any havoc. It is sold separately from Honda. I've had my cluster all the way out of the car and unplugged and there isn't any light on.

she doesn't have anything done to her speedo. The thing just broke. If you had your guages completely pulled and still no indicator, then it is good. I need to let her know
