problems with cold start
hey guys, well i have a 92 accord wagon, and well when i got it it would start fine when it was cold, and ran goog, but after it warmed up it wouldnt start cuz it would flood out, found out it was a bad fuel pump relay, so now that has been replaced, but now on cold starts i have to turn it over for a few sec's and then hit it a couple of times and then it will start, i have replaed the cold start valve, all of the vacumm lines, checked the timing and all of that, now i'm stuck on what else it could be, and ideas would help thank you, also have a trans prob, changed the computer and the shift solinoids, it shifts right most the time, i have to pull it into 1st gear sometimes and it will shift, but the drive indecator in the guages flashes on the d4 marker, need some help with that as well

Re: problems with cold start
your hard starts may be a bad head gasket. like if is sits overnight, there is water in the cylinders from the coolant system pressure pushing coolant in the cylinders after you turn it off when you get home from a drive. this is just a possibility

Well I did a radiator leak down test and nothing is wrong there, and I also did a compression test and it's holding around 170 psi all across, it's jus frustrating cuz ivvant seem to figure it out

Re: problems with cold start
sounds good on the head gasket. how about the starter? does it seem to spin fast? if this doesnt seem like the issue then maybe the plugs, wires, and dist. cap and rotor need to be replaced.

Well the cap and rotor look new and I replaced the spark control module in the distance but plugs and wires might be something it needs, the engine only has around 30000 miles on it give or take 5000 miles so it's really strong and everything seems fine but plugs and wires are my next task
