Default persistent cooling issues

90 accord cb7 5speed
alright guys still have not been able to solve my overheating problem but now im wondering if its because of the swap. my original engine was a usdm f22a4 with the stock ecu which has the electrical green coolant plug at the thermostat(1), a white one on the side of the head(2), and a green one on the top radiator coolant hose(3). the swapped engine is a jdm f22a and i am running a f22a6 ecu. the jdm engine did not come with a coolant plug on the top radiator hose so i swapped mine from the old engine since i was using the same harness.

the problem is with the stock coolant wiring setup(swapped in old upper radiator sensor) my coolant gauge acts very strange. any changes in electrical load make the temp gauge jump up. heat on temp jumps up. heat off jumps back down very rapidly. headlights and everything cause the gauge to move when on. i tried swapping the plugs on the electrical connectors 3 and 2 and finally got my radiator fan to come on but it stayed on with the car off(my old cd7 did this sometimes too though). i dont know if this solved the problem or masked a different problem. im not exactly sure what i should do. is my harness the problem or do i have plugs mixed up. if i scratch my head anymore ill be picking at my brain

completely confused on what to do

also random question. for the h22a throttle body where the fitv is on the throttle body. is the upper nipple the inlet or the outlet for the fitv

Not good on a swap but understand the OE cooling fan operation, pretty well.

First thing I will ask, do the fans ever come on when the car is running and the ac is off? Next, jump the connector on the t-stat housing with the key on, do BOTH fans come on.

Really sounds more like a wire issue than a true over heating issue. Do you have or can you get an IFR temp reader?

the fan works fin when jumped. ac system has been removed from the vehicle. im mianly concerned about the swap because the new motor only has 2 sensors while the old one has 3.

ifr temp reader. guessing this is an auxillary temp gauge. today i went under the hood with the car on and unplugged all three coolant sensors...the gauge was still getting a reading...now i am extremely confused

Not sure what else I can do...as stated, OE set up, with the swap.....you are going to have to go from there.....about post #8, I explain about all you need to know.

EDIT: the first step in finding out why "something" doesn't work is knowing "how it is suppose to work".

Haven't heard anything....

The three you unplugged, where were they and how many pins? I'm pretty sure the H isn't that different than the F.

IFR temp reader.....infrared temp reader/sensor....you can point these at "things" and it will read the temp...in your case, to the head to see what the "real" temp is......other things like hub bearing to see if one is hotter than the other....ect.....got a thing in the mail the other day, Habor Freight has one on sale for $30....#96451.

interesting i will have too look into the ifr for sure. the original motor was an f22a4. the new motor is a jdm f22a. the only h parts i have added is the upper air plenum.the main problem is my apartment complex i currently live at will not let me work on the car during the days so i have not been able to change any parts. attempting to diagnose has left me stumped. the temp sensor is very erratic once warmed up. when shifting it rises. when any electrical load is applied it rises including brakes, blinkers, lights. sometimes it will jump down and then back up. im horrible at troubleshooting an electrical problem so im contemplating on taking it to a professional...money money money. gotta figure out why my truck clutch pedal wont build pressure since it is my only back up car.
