Re: Oil leak from the distributor
First, verify it is the distributor only that is leaking. PCV valves and valve covers can leak in the area as well.
Second, there are two items to replace, the outer o ring but also an inner part in the distributor.
Take a look here:

Also, while there if you have had a leak for a long time, the rubber hoses which the oil sprays and drips into can also swell and might have to be replaced as well. Depends how bad and for how long the leak has existed.

Tried removing the press pin on the '97 EX and it was a colossal bitch. '95EX it had the cir-clip and the loose fitting pin which made seal replacement far easier.
Ended up picking up a new unit form RockAuto, well worth the ~$100 just to have a fresh distributor with new components.

Re: Oil leak from the distributor
Take you distributor cap off and check for oil INSIDE the cap. This indicates a bad inner seal. Replace the outer seal on the distributor ASAP and also the swollen heater hose. The hose will break, and when it does you will lose most of your coolant, the motor will overheat, and the head will warp. Replace the hose now, even if you have to wait a week to do the distributor seals.
