Malfunction Indicator Light with P1457 Code
Hello,
I have a 1998 Accord V6 with a P1457 code (thanks to AutoZone). The dealer told me that the Canister Vent Shut valve needs to be replaced, but they also want to charge me a bunch of money to do the job. The dealer also told me that the code might be due to some other problem and that it was necessary to charge me the diagnostic fee.
I was hoping to do it myself.
Can anyone give me some advice as to how hard it would be to fix it myself? Does the tank need to be dropped or partially lowered?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Thank you.
I ended up taking the car to the dealer and they fixed the problem at no cost, maybe because it might have been covered under the emission warranty.
I am in the process of getting the shop manual for this vehicle. I hope that I will be able to use this website for future reference.
Thank you again.
