Default Key stuck in ignition

I had to replace the AT Control unit in my 1991 Honda Accord EX. The AT control unit shares a mounting bracket with the ECU which meant I had to disconnect both. I replaced the AT control unit and then re-installed it plus the ECU. It started up fine but when I went to shut it off I could not remove the key. I tried turning the steering wheel both ways to make sure it wasn't keeping the key from being removed. Does anyone have an idea to why the key can't be removed ?

Check your shift-lever interlock. It's not supposed to let you take the key out unless the gearshift lever is in Park.

1) Maybe the contacts in the shift lever aren't closing. Adjustment? Can you get your key out by pushing the shift lever farther forward?

2) Open circuit between those contacts & the solenoid that holds or releases your key from the lock cylinder.

you need to have the shift cable adjusted, try yank the shifter stick, I am 99percent sure it's the buttem on your shifter

take apart the cover and you'll see a meaty size cable and a adjusting nuts
