heres a little history... I have a 1996 honda accord lx 4dr automatic, bought in a hurry, my winter beater blew up and i need a car fast, i got it from a friend who flips cars, i traded him my spring project for this thing cause it was supposed to be drivable. he put a tranny in it before i got it, the car ran great! unfortunatly it only ran great for about 2 weeks before the non vtec 2.2 lost oil pressure.

since i needed this thing to get to work i need a cheap fast solution to no oil pressure, i bought a jdm 2.3 single cam motor from japan star motors, its an
f23. i did the swap but since it was out of a right hand drive car i couldnt use the harness, i was trying to put this thing together cheap, i reused my old non vtec harness, dizzy, intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust manifold, injectors and fuel rail because they were all different then the jdm harness.

ok the problem

it starts up and runs great, i can put it in drive and it goes anywhere...but once it gets over 4k rpm it starts to die and it sounds as if it breaks up. if it kicks into passing gear forget it, its not going any faster then it was before. it is very responsive from a dead stop, idk what to do im having a hard time finding info on this swap since there arent many performance gains from it, but i just want to get to work, ive been driving it like this for months but i really cant take it anymore, im running the non vtec ecu but i have a 97 poh ecu , mind you this is in ny state so if my cel is on i wont pass inspection right now i have no cel. can i run ex 2.2 parts, is the dizzy and intake different, different injector size???
