Default Ipod solution for the 06+

I am getting something for a good friend's birthday, she just traded her corolla in for a 06 coupe with navigation and the whole nine yard.

I am thinking of getting her some sort of ipod connection, i know honda sells one for 175ish, before i buy that i just want to see if there's any alternative?

the 05 music link was alot cheaper than the 06, what's the reason??

thanks ht

I have seen a few other good ones. but the Music link is SOOOOO easy to install. Connect the BUS cable top the audio unit, plug the cable to the music link box, plug the ipod cable to the box, run it to the glovebox. DONE! I have them done in under 10 minutes here usually.

I work at an Audio Shop..The 06 ipod hock up looks the same as the 05.. But the price diffrence comes in only when you have the bose system..Do Not use the Fm Mod..we have alot of troubles with them...The best thing to is call Crutch Field and see what the offer..Then you can use that and find it cheeper threw ebay and i will keep a look out here and talk to the Mangers see if i can get for you at cost..

Oh and make sure the the honda part they sell is not just the wire that tapes in to the head phone jack because The dont offer the controls threw the headunit it self you still have use the Ipod to change songs out and stuff....And but if you do get one get the one that plugs in to the bottem of the Ipod where you put the Charger in at

Before you spend the money on the Honda unit, keep in mind that it does not display song information on the radio display.

If I were you I'd work on getting an aftermarket radio in there, then hook up an adapter to that radio.

right but that's why you can use the TTS software. Even though it' still a bit rough it works

And have you any idea how much it costs to install an a/m head unit in one of those?

I bought one of these for my moms matrix
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-m...XDPKA

It was a pretty easy install until I found out I had to run a constant 12V. My step dad did not want me to run a wire. It would not have hurt anything to run it through where the harness is. He is such a nerd :end rant:
So I took that back and bought an alpine cd player with aux in. She just uses it like that.

I have an alpine cd player with the ipod controller on it, in my 99 accord

The only downside to it is when you scroll through alot of artist it is very slow.
