Default Help!! CEL codes

okay, so i cant really distinguish it, but i think im getting either a 54 (LAF- lean air fuel sensor) or a 63 (primary O2 sensor). i dont think its the 54 because my chilton manual doesnt list that as a code for my car. although that doesnt rule that code out. so what should i do?

well it sounds like you need to replace your o2 sensor that is between the engine and the catilitic convertor. There was another post somewhere on the first page of the accord forum to find them for cheap. here is the link to the topic: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=174690 and here is the link to the shop that sells them for cheap: http://www.oxygensensors.com/

cool. well my friend at his shop is going to be looking at the car tomorrow. he has the real diagnostic tool so he will be able to tell me for sure what code im throwing. i dont know why but that damn blinking light was pretty confusing to me. i couldnt accuratly judge what was a "long" blink and what was a "short" one. ill update tomorrow.

so i turns out i cant read the blinky lights for s*%$! just sitting there, staring at the light kinda puts you in a trance. almost made me want to go out and detroy all toyotas. hmmmm, well anyway the code was the same one as before (9, cylinder position sensor) so i figured the code was still in memory and got thrown back out again for some reason, we cleared the memory and it hasnt come on since.

anyone know why a code that was stored in memory would come back up again? is that just what it does to make sure you remedy the problem?

did you reset the ecu the last time you had this problem??? if you did then there should have been noway it would have pulled it back out of memory and flashed it again. You may be having an intermintent problem causing it to display the CEL.
