Heating Problem! Help
I have a 94' EX and there is a problem with the heat/air or should I say blower??? When i turn on the air or the heat it will only work on full blast. In other words, if i have it on the 'off' setting its the same as 1, or 2, or 3 but then when i put it to 4 it will kick on. Any ideas???? I was hoping this was something small. Sorry if i didnt supply enough info. Let me know. thanks again

Most likely the blower motor resistor is open. On my '90 Civic it's mounted on top of the blower housing with 2 phillips head screws. Removing the glove box made access easier. Don't know if it's in the same place on the Accords, but I would think so. Pull yours out and if it's burned open on the wire coils it will be obvious.

Check them with an ohm meter if their not obvious.
I don't know much about Accords.. But I do know general circuits such as the Blower Motor Circuit. And since they're all pretty much wired the same, I can stand up tall and tell you exactly what is causing your problem..
There are only two Technical possiblities..
1... The third Resistor in the Blower Motor Resistor Block is Open..
THis would cause nothing to happen when you turn the Fan Switch to settings 1, 2, and 3.. Every setting has its own Resistor and all three of the settings have their Resistors connected in Series.. So if the third Resistor is Open, that would cause all three settings to not work..
2... All three of the Resistors in the Blower Motor Resistor Block are Open..
That's possible, but unlikely..
There is still one possiblitly. It's a long shot but.. All three points in the Fan Switch could be burnt and isn't getting current from the Switch's Pole.. I highly doubt it though..
Hope this helps.. Good luck and let me know how it goes..
