Default Header Problems

So I bought some DC ceramic headers and last night me and my friend were installing them.

Basically everything was going smoothly until we got to the down piping (exhaust pipe to header pipe). The problem is that the exhaust piping is a 2 bolt pattern and the down piping is a 3 bolt. First thing that ran through my head was "what the hell were they thinking?"

So since we encountered the problem at like 11 at night we had to just do what we could to put it on there for now. My car sounds like an absolute piece of ****.

Has anyone else run into this problem when installing headers? Any resolutions that anyone has in mind would be great.

Thanks

yeah with my civic, i had JDM jasma 5zigen headers that wouldnt bolt up to my stock cat.

1 of 2 solutions

1. go to your local muffler shop, and get a custom test pipe with the dc flange, and itll bolt up.
2. go to your local muffler shop, and get them to weld a new flange on your stock cat.

with my civic i went with 1. and it sounded badassss aanndd loud! but its hard to pass inspection that way.. if you have emission testing

Thanks for the input.

Yeah unfortunately I still have to pass emissions. So are you saying welding it on wont produce as much power as choice 1?

You can just look online for a cat that hooks up to DC headers. That's what my buddy has on his accord and its a perfect fit!!!
