H23a vtec Swap into a manual 6th gen Accord
This is how I did my Swap hope it helps
Keeping it simple
Engine Mounts:
ALL accord mounts from the 6th gen will be used.
The F23A1 transmission bolts up
---------
A/C:
A/C from the 6th gen accord will bolt be use.
---------
POWERSTEERING:
Still need to install, but what I’m planning on doing is getting 97+ P.S. bracket and using my old F23A1 crank pulley
---------
WIRING:
Just find out where each plug goes and plug it in. I extended my crank wires from the old timing case to the Dizzy
Wire colors:
Black/Yellow - Black/Yellow
Black - Black
Blue - Blue
Green - Orange/Blue
Red - White/Blue
White - White
Yellow/Green - Yellow/Green
Yellow - Orange
Main/Stripe
---------
AXLES:
ALL Accord Axles will be used including halfshaft.
------
ECU:
For startup I used my stock ECU, but I would not recommend running your car.
Then I used PCB ECU and everything works excepted my temp gauge doesn’t work so got fix that problem also I got it to start with put A15 wire to A16
-------
Exhaust:
I got a 97+ H22 flex pipe
http://www.exhaustdistribution.net/s...DE-DUAL/Detail
Then cut the Accord straight pipe and attached a connector to the pipe to shorten the exhaust
The Prelude flex pipe is a little bit longer than the Accord
I brazed it but you can get it welded
Cluster:
98-99 Accord Temp. Gauge ran off of two sensors the ECT(two wiring plug) and Sending unit (single plug
00-22 Accord Temp. Gauge ran off of one sensor the ECT
- To get the gauge to work in the 00-02 accord you will need 98-99 Cluster and wiring harness or wiring in plug
Anything I missed sorry firefox crashed so had to write it again

Re: H23a vtec Swap into a manual 6th gen Accord
I recently bought the same h23a engine to do a swap but am a little unsure about the wiring up part. Did you use the H23a harness or f23?

Re: H23a vtec Swap into a manual 6th gen Accord
Mine was a 2002, the coolant temp gauge didnt work. From my research, you either use a converter box (one the civic guys who run S2000 clusters use) or you switch to a 98-99 cluster.
Car is pretty much sold now, but thanks anyways!

Honda accord f23:
I'm doing the same thing with f23a swap to h23a dohc vtec blue top.
I have a few questions about the exhaust:
. when you state "97" are you referring to a 97 h22 flex pipe or is this a combination of 97 prelude and 97 accord welded together?
. would u happen to know the dimensions or could you give me some measurements on length of the down pipe needed?
. would it be a bad idea if I just ordered a h22a4 headers b/c that's what I've read in other forums that its compatible to the h23a?
Question about ecu
. I have an ecu that's exactly for the blue top but its for an automatic , is it possible to get that chip and tuned so that its for a manual transmission and can run motor?

Re: H23a vtec Swap into a manual 6th gen Accord
Hi there I got some issue on my 98 accord F23a1 Lx US version, I swapped an H23A automatic from HMO with incomplete engine harness cut plug but comes with PCF ecu. Everything is installed and I used the plug from the stock Lx f23a1 engine. I was starting it but it won’t prime the main relay for fuel and no crank. Is it because the key immobilizer? Can someone help me with this? Thank you.
