Default Is this fixable ?

Honda accord 2002 4cyl Automatic

I have 4 codes, P0780 Shift Malfunction, P1739 3rd pressure switch, P0700 Trans Control System (MIL request), and P1259 VTEC SYSTEM FAILURE
autozone paper says best solution is change the VCT SOLENOID

The car has late gear shifts, and sometimes doesn’t want to move in idling. When I accelerate I feel it struggle to find a gear. I’m scared to push it past 3.5K RPm. Kinda loud scarping noise as well.

When I shift to N and R I can here a clank sometimes

I have now changed the engine and trans oil, the gears shift better, changed power steering o ring which helped the pump from leaking, power steering good now

got these all at once

how it happened: driving home from work, I was accelerating and car jumps, power steering goes out then battery and oil pressure lights turn on. Seconds later car shuts off. I turn on again and now only engine light is on. This is where i got the codes.

transmission was refurbished - person that sold me it
i got this for 1k, looking to buy another one that’s actually has no issues. When I bought this it had very small grinding noise

For P0700, P0780 and P1739 recheck all the simple stuff: wire damage especially at the transmission, loose connectors, corrosion in the connector pins, fluid level and condition (color- red, brown, dark brown. smell: burnt...)

From the sound of things though this is probably just a junk transmission. Doesn't hurt to check...

For P1259- parts stores love to suggest throwing parts at it because they make more money that way. Again check that the wiring is secure and undamaged at the VTEC Solenoid and pressure switch. Engine oil is full and clean. it's a good idea to check the filter screen between the VTEC Solenoid body and cylinder head for a clog.

But honestly I wouldn't spend the time looking at the VTEC issue while the transmission is acting up.
