engine rough on immediate startup, 88 carb
Last week my 88 accord's 2.0 carb (manual) engine started running pretty rough when it's first started up. Does this for maybe 30-40 secs, then goes back to running real smooth. It misses, you can smell fuel in the exhaust, and it smokes a little. After this initial 'morning sickness' the engine pulls real strong, runs smooth, and gets amazing gas mileage..... so, I don't know what's up.
The engine also fires up after about 1 crank too, whether the temp outside is cold or warm. It's only got about 130k on it.
I've heard the PCV valve can mess up the idle if it's getting clogged, and since I haven't changed it since i bought the car I plan on doing that this weekend.
Any other thoughts on what to do? Thanks!

Re: engine rough on immediate startup, 88 carb (wolfeusr)
clean your carb or if you have some extra $$$ Complete Carburetor Restoration will fix your trouble
check all the linkages on the side of the carb. check for dirt and grime build up or linkage that seems too loose. clean with choke and carb cleaner.
