Default engine question

after reading the haynes manual, i think there's something wrong with my engine.
someone said i have an ex engine block and lx head (something like that).
is it hard to convert it to an ex head and hookup vtec? thanks.

Hmmm well it could just be the valve cover. You could check under the cover to c if your head has the mid rocker arm and that the cam has that mid lobe. Since you have the Hayes manuel i believe it'll tell you the how-to on that....... Was there any work done on the car b4 you purchased it?? Was it a used car?? Private purchase or from the dealer?? Also, can you hear the Vtec "kick in" when you are at high rpm's (high being like 5500-7000)??

as posted an AccordinglyDone, you got fooked man. The Accord wiht the plugs in the back is th F22b2 head non VTEC and B1 is plugs up front. So the previuos owner most definantly screwed you. But you should be ok as long as you dont throw a VTEC code.

Valve covers are different and cannot be swapped.

On the passenger side of the valve cover. From the looks of it, there isn't one there. Non-Vtec and Vtec heads are different. There's no way to put a non-Vtec valve cover on a Vtec head, or vice versa.
