Default Need Engine Info On d15b

Hey guyz im pretty noob when it comes to civics so I Need Some Help!!!
Previously I purchased a engine from some mechanic Basically it was worth ****!!! Im about to rebuil the whole engine with my dad and was noticing that engine block is D15B which from what i heard VTEC But It aint I have a normal head NonVTEC on it!!My Q is that i was wondering if that is a VTEC Block And if i can place A VTEC head On It And what are the diffirences on them when it comes to sensors!!! My Car is A 93 Honda CIVIC LX i think the previous motor Was D15B2 or B7 !! I dont know !! Anyways Any help would be appreciated

I don't know about d15b's, but I do know that some of the VTEC engines on 92-95 civics didn't have VTEC on the valve cover... are you sure it's a non-VTEC head?

Absolute best way to check is to pop the valve cover and look for the VTEC lobe.

D15B7's are non-vtec,
you can change the B7 head for a vtec head (Z6) which will fit perfectly, making a D15Z6

a D15B is a jdm 1.5 vtec motor

d16y8 don't have vtec on he valve cover a d15b is vtec just doesn't say on valve cover

I believe there are three versions of this motor. I think its like 2 versions are OBD0 non-VTEC, and one OBD1 VTEC.

i just purchased a vtec to swap with. also does anyone know if i can still use the same distributor from my car on the new D15b VTEC one!!!! Thanx hey sorry but i really dont know hot to post pics!!!!
