Engine going...what to do...
The engine and transmission in my 91 Accord Ex are about to die. This is the second engine, the last one had timing belt issues which killed the valves last July. I was changing the oil the other day and theres coolant leaking down the block everywhere, and oil coming out around the top of the pan. The transmission shifts very hard, similar to dropping it into gear from neutral. Other times when I'm driving along usually around 30-35 mph it will up to almost 5000 rpm but the car doesn't increase speed. I'm thinking about swapping in an H22 or F20 and I would like to change to a manual transmission. I'd most likely try and find a wrecked Prelude in a junkyard and grab whatever parts I could off of it. The guy at the local shop is a dick and said that he won't do a tranny swap so I figure I'm on my own. How difficult is it?
Yeah I'm also considering just getting a new car; don't know what to get though. I'd probably spend around $12,000(on a car, not a swap).
