Default Electrical Problem help

about a week ago i installed an aftermarket alpine deck. After the install, everything was working fine. Then my dashboard and speedometer lights turned off even when my headlights were still on. I asked a friend of mine if it was okay to leave the "illuminator" wires exposed and he said it was okay, "it doesn't do anything". But now im having 2nd thoughts about that. Also my rear lights dont turn on.

I checked most of all my fuses located under the hood and on the side panels. Anyone know what other things i can check before i bring it to the shop?

well my advice is pull the cd player out of the dash and tape up anything that is just sitting inside the dash exposed. That is never a good Idea.I always use the small grey wire nuts to put in stereos so get some of them and cap off and tape anything that isn't being used. And look over what you did with the instructions in hand to check for mistakes

is your stuff wired right? The4 illumination wire controlls the brightness of the deck via the illumination **** on your dash(5th gen) or on the cluster (6th Gen)

there's only 2 illumination wires that arent connected. My deck which is the alpine cda-9855 has only 1 wire for illumination ( i think )

So I should connect the illumination wires?

Ok had the same problem on my Honda accord when i installed a head unit. pull the head unit out . on the passanger side there is a fuse box in that fuse box there will be a blown Red fuse.i believ its called courtsy lights i dont rember. Then i would recommand redoing all of the after market wiring and soldering all the wires then use elec tape or heat shrinks. THis helped me get my light back on.

Do these alarms have fuses in them?

10 Amp fuse marked "Back-up, Meter Lights (cluster) turn signals in the interior Fuse panel. Refer to the fuse box cover for location discriptions. It's either that, or the dimmer control s..t the bed.
