Designer Drug??

Check the appropriate Fuses. the headlamps are individually fused. I'm curious about the voltage spike (lights went super-bright)... No smell of sulfur from under the hood (overgharged battery) or other such occurances??

fuses are fine that was the first thing i checked no odd smells under the hood tho and no reason for the battery to overcharge i wouldnt think been driving around for a while with the new battery just all of asudden happend but everything in the car is workin like its supercharged with power minus the headlights not working??

It sounds like the alternator started overcharging (output voltage higher that 14.2 volts). A higher than normal voltage would make bulbs brighter and make motors run faster (wipers etc). Unfortunately, it has a tendence to blow out bulbs (which MAY be what happened to your headlamps) and drastically shorten electrical components life expectancy. Electronics have absolutely NO tolerance for excessive voltage, so get it checked quick!!

Thanks for the "Fix" report and glad it worked out.
You're fortunate it didn't take out the battery. They have a tendency to either gas-out, overheat and blister the sides or just explode from the hydrogen gas igniting
.

I believe you're refering to the term "Maintainance Free" battery, often marketed as never needing water.
If you believe that, I've an Acme SkyHook that some guy was supposed to pick up 2day, but didn't show
If it is a true "M/Free" Battery, there will be no provisions for gaining access thru the battery top, No caps, no square covers (and no way to replace any water (Battery Acid) which may have boiled off from an Overcharge. Fortunately, thru the advantage of Modern Chemistry, they are more resistant to overheating.
Just keep an eye on it.
