Default Code 6

Hi. I have a 1993 Honda accord ex. Every few weeks I keep getting a check engine light that comes on. However when I shut the car off and start it again, it goes away. I jumped the plug in the passenger side kick panel and looked at the code in the dash which was 6 short flashes indicating code 6 which is engine coolant and possibly the temp. My question is: Would that be the thermostat, the coolant needing to be changed itself, and or engine temp sensor possibly? Any comments are apprecitated and call me out if I am wrong. Thanks!
