Default cg3 Tranny Failure, 5 Speed swap or Full F20B swap?

I picked up a 99 CG3 accord ex with 116k, Tranny was supposedly stuck in second but I cleared the codes and it appears to drive fine with the exception of a delayed downshift into 1st. I replaced the 3rd clutch pressure switch and the car runs good when its floored, but when I drive normal it goofs up shifting just has bad timing.
Should I replace more pressure switches? or should I do a 5 speed swap?

I heard the 4cyl autos arent as prone to failure as the v6 trannys?

This is the problem
If I do a 5speed swap why not just swap in an h22 or f20b while Im at it?
the SOHC vtec 2.3 in the car is pretty pathetic, on the other hand its practical and I could live with a 5 speed ex.
What would you suggest?
5 speed swap parts will have to be had for 1k or less, I found trannys for 400 so that leaves 6 for axles and other stuff.
I have a mig welder and will do the labor myself.

Either one takes considerable work, especially with the wiring. I would buy a complete swap if that is something youre really considering down the line, but just doing the tranny first is of course cheaper. I wasnt prepared to do my full motor swap, so I just swapped on the H tranny first and had the motor set aside. Just be prepared to do some wiring whatever you choose

Oh yeah, and you dont need to weld anything for just the tranny swap. Nor the motor swap from everything Ive seen

I read somewhere there was one bracket that had to be modified.
At this point Im going to stat collecting parts for teh manual swap.

Let me ask you a question.

Was it worth it?

Yeah but thats and easy one. You can modify it like that, use the Euro-R mount from the CF accord, or I believe the H23a mount from the 6th gen wagon.
But yes, it was definately worth it. Just doing the tranny really isnt too bad, and well worth the peace of mind with that auto tranny outta there.

what did it cost you in parts Approx?
What area are you in?
I would be willing to pay someone to help with the wiring.
Thanks for all your input cannon

I think I spent about 600 in parts minus the tranny. I got the clutch line, resevoir, brake and clutch pedal + master cylinder, shiftbox with lines and the 5spd trans mount for 240 at the local junkyard (duarte/el monte CA) area. Add in flywheel, clutch and pp, slave cylinder and thats your total. You can look up Turbowa's write up and it'll explain the wiring or just find a diagram and figure it out. I never got my speedo working cause I shorted out my multiplexor unit while wiring so...= /. 6thgenaccord.com has some people also that could help you out
