Car wont start. Drained battery
Hello, Honda-tech. I have a 1995 Honda Accord lx with manual trans. Drained the battery a couple of days ago eating lunch in my car with the radio on. I was able to get it jumped started and drove home. The next morning my car will not start.
Tried jumping it again, but this time the car wouldn't start. My battery was really really old, so first thing I did was buy a new one. Still won't start. We were able to push start it, so I thought it might be my starter.
Took my starter into autozone to get tested and they said it was fine. I have checked all my fuses and I can hear the fuel pump come on.
Could it be my wiring or ground maybe?
Thanks

Verify that the connections on the battery are clean and tight. Verify correct voltage at the battery. If voltage has dropped there is possibly a drain on the battery, 75aces has a point with checking the Alt. A cars alternator is not designed to charge a drained/dead battery. It is to keep the battery fully charged.
Yupppp. Since you replaced battery, even if you had a bad alternator, the car would still start up and eventually drain itself out. It wouldn't hurt however, to check out your alternator since your at it. Did you try checking for sparks? Have the cap/rotors ever been replaced?
I'm not a "PRO" or anything just throwing my opinions out there
Good luck !

In the end I had a bad ground somewhere. Checked all my wires and they seemed good, but my negative terminal was pretty bad than I initially thought. Took old terminal off then cleaned my wires with a wire brush and replaced my old terminal with a new one. Car fired right up. This is my fifth accord. first car was an 88, then had 98,95, and 92 h22 which all were eventually sold. Now back to a 95 again.

A lot of times battery that aren't maintenance free wind up leaking through the top and corrode the positive terminal. When you replace a battery just make sure to use a wire brush to clean the terminal before putting it on the new battery's post.
