Whenever I drive my 94 accord ex in the rain, she goes whichever way she wants to ... Wherever she feels like going she will ... I almost lost control of her tonight while driving ... If i go anything over 30 mph she starts going everywhere ... How do I fix that ... Is it the rear sway bar ... I just need help dont like driving her like that ...

agree... you didn't state if your front tires are in new condition or have nice deep grooves for shedding water out of the way <shrugs>

How old is your suspension?

I just changed my swaybar endlinks and the car behnaves much better. Best $15 I spent on my car. You should look into them. If you haven't changed them, they are more than likely in bad shape.

The front tires are great, the back not so much ... I'm going to get new tires in the back and see how that goes (looking for rims anyway) ... Going to look into my swaybar endlinks too ... I was thinking it was traction too ...

even if you had NO swaybar you wouldn't have that bad traction in the back..

What brand tyres you running?

Please do your research and buy something decent when replacing tyres..

You don't need rims, just put the money into good quality rubber

Unless you're losing control of the car in dry surfaces, most likely your current tires cannot handle the rain that well.

How much thread do you have left on the tires?

I put on some Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S from Costco, all season sport tires, and they are great. Quieter ride and grippy. They perform really well on wet surfaces.

I had the same issue when I bought my last car, turned out the camber was beyond bad. Get an alignment, see if that fixes it. That did for me.

I once heard that when you are hydro planing you will not feel the back of the car slide but you will feel the front... But who knows I've been know to get things wrong before.

Sounds like a weird problem...

It is now industry standard that new tires are placed on the rear when two are bought. It doesn't matter if it is fwd or rwd.


If the front tires are good get some for the rear. If you have a tread gauge measure the inside and outside of the tread. The legal requirement is 2/32's of an inch and we recommend replacing tires at about 4/32's. If you have a tires plus/expert tire/firestone near you get some Primewell ps850s if cost is a concern. Otherwise some fr710's or champion hr's would be good too.
