Accord 1996 : Radio code problem (SOLVED)
Hi,
I just changed my distributor O-ring and I disconnected the battery for safety. But then after I connected and disconnected the battery 2-3 times.
Now my radio is not working. I understand I need the radio code to unlock it. But I cannot find it in the car, on any stickers.
The other strange thing is that when I turn the radio ont, I cannot see anything on the display, just black. Is it normal that the display is not on ?
(my radio is an aftermarket radio)
Where can I get the code back ?
How can I enter the code since the display is black ?
Thanks for help !
added : I have a canadian : Accord EX 4 cylinder

Re: Accord 1996 : Radio code problem
So you have an aftermarket radio, post zero information about the radio itself and expect random people on the internet to know what radio you have, know the code, and can present it to you?
I'd probably start with finding out what radio you have. AFAIK most aftermarkets do not have a security code associated with them.
I'd also double check both the Backup Radio/Antenna fuse (interior, IIRC) and the Radio fuse (underhood, IIRC)
If it's an OEM radio, you need the serial number from it and proof of ownership then any Honda service department should give it to you for free - like the two million other threads/posts on HT tell you to do.

Ok, I just removed the center dash in order to access the serial number etc ..
So the radio/CD is a Pioneer DEH P4600MP
serial : DCT M 025296UC
Where can I find the Backup Radio/Antenna fuse (interior, IIRC) and the Radio fuse (underhood, IIRC) ??

The driver's side kick panel near where your foot rest is has a removable panel containing the fuse box. There's one in there that's labeled "Backup Radio/Antenna" see if that's blown.
There should also be one in the fuse box in the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall for the radio.

That helps quite a bit more

I found the problem ! My radio had a on-off button
I never used that button, it was always on ON.
And the button is so tiny I didn't notice it !
Problem solved !
