AC problem, please help
ok, so i recently bought this 95 accord v6 off a buddy of mine for cheap. i replaced the condenser on it cause the old one had a hole in it. after i replaced it i thought everything was fine and charged up the ac system. now i have this problem where i would turn on the ac and everything would be fine fine for like 20 mins. the air would be cold, compressor running, everything good. but then the air would start to get warmer and warmer like the ac wouldnt be on. so today at work i decieded to evac and recharge the system again just to make sure i had the right amount of freon in the system. so i put about a pound and 3 ounces in. the sticker on the rad support says 21.3 ounces. low side pressure was about 35-ish psi and high side was about 175-ish psi. i know those numbers are a tad bit high but i assumed maybe cause of the heat. so now im driving home, everything is fine, cold air for about 15 mins then warm air. i popped the hood and find that the compressor clutch isnt engaged. what do u guys think it could be? bad pressure switch? i really cant think of anything that would cause this. please help me out.
thanks
thanks

I think if all you replaced was the compressor then you did a half *** job. What made the first compressor go bad?? What is the condition of the accumulator?? Did you flush out the sytem?? How many ouces did you pull out the first time. What was the steady vaccum time?? If you are incapable of answering even one of these basic questions then take your car to a reputable AC shop.

i never said i replaced the compressor. i replaced the condensor cause it had a hole in it. and since there was no freon in the system i didnt pull anything out. i just had it on vaccum for about 4 hours. i have no leaks in the system now and steady vaccum.

for sure.
i would look at the AC clutch relay,AC pressure switch ,and the compressor clutch itself. I would also replace the accumulator and the TXV

im gonna see and if i get any power at the thermal protector switch. ive heard about them going bad often. i really dont see the point of replacing the clutch, reciever/dryer, expansion valve, etc since i only paid 500 for the car and then me putting so much money into it since it is just my beater.

well beater or not you do want the AC working dont you??? Besides, if you work at a shop then those parts are gonna cost you 60-70 bucks at the most...

Air gap of the compressor clutch, too large.
You may be able to bump the clutch disk toward the compressor and it will run again until the system cycles.
There are shims behind the clutch disk
