I have a 92 Accord. The A/C cuts out for random periods of time. I can tell that the compressor is not engaging when this happens. I checked the freon pressure and this is within specs. The A/C cools fine when the compressor is engaged. It may cool great for hours and then cut out and not engage for several minutes.
Can anybody shed any light on this for me?

If the pressure is really within spec, about the only other reasons the A/C would cut out as far as I know is a long shot. The ECU will cut the compressor during wide open throttle. Maybe something along that line is happening? Or, the compressor clutch is going bad?
