99 Accord EX P0325
Thanks to the great info on this site, I just completed a valve job on my 4 cyl Accord EX. One problem though, when I was lifting the head out I FAILED to notice that the wire for the knock sensor was attached to the intake manifold....result was broken sensor!
I checked the harness and the wire and everything seemed to be fine, Honda wanted $250 for a new sensor so I got one cheaper off ebay made for my car. Followed the correct install instructions form Chiltons and torqued it on, cleaned the connectors and reinstalled the head.
Now when I drive it for 3-4 minutes the CEL comes on like clockwork with P0325. So 2 questions:
1. do hondas have problems accepting non-genuine knock sensors?
2. is there a testing procedure for the wire at the harness for signal? I want to make sure the wire didn't get damaged further down the line or pulled out of the ECU?
Thanks in advance.
