Does anyone have an Accord with a CG6 chassis and an F23A1 engine from the factory? If so, what model year is it?
I know it comes with a F23A4 engine for sure, but the Honda online service info is saying that for certain model years you can get both engines for this chassis. I only want to verify, because sometimes service info is not always 100% correct.

BTW. If the F23A1 can be found on the CG6 chassis then, what is the difference between the CG5 and CG6?

I don't know for sure but based on the chassis codes for the 5th gen I would take a guess that one is a Sedan and the other is a Coupe.

what service manual are you looking at? Are you looking at the PDF downloadable ones? If so, they are probably listing chassis codes from other countries like the CD5 is a 94-97 Sedan in the US while the CD6 is a Sedan in Japan.

 

yeah, looks like CG6 were made in Japan and CG5 america.

 

I'm looking at https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.asp. It is the same site the dealers use.

Looking at 1999 and 2000.

CF8:
ACCORD/F23A5

CG3:
ACCORD COUPE/F23A1, F23A4

CG5:
ACCORD/F23A1

CG6:
ACCORD/F23A1, F23A4

For 1998, 2001 and 2002 the website is saying CG6 only came with the F23A4

 

What does the number (3003108) behind the chasis code mean? (e.g. CM2-3003108) Does it have any special meaning?
