97 Honda Accord SRS light
Hey guys! I'm new here and I have a 97 Honda accord V6. When I bought it, it had had previously been side swiped pretty bad. I had to replace both passenger doors and I've replaced the seatbelt also. The problem is the SRS light is on. The fuse below the dash is good and I tried re setting it with a paperclip but I'm not sure I'm doing it right, is there a sensor I'm missing? I cant get it on the road and inspected till I figure out the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You will need to locate an FSM and preferably a test harness, although if you have patience you can back probe the connectors and check for continuity and voltage, and proceed to test the SRS system.

Re: 97 Honda Accord SRS light
Honda SRS codes on your 97 Honda can be read with an OBD-II reader/scanner that have that capability. There are aftermarket reader/scanners with such capability. Most auto parts stores will read the codes for no charge.
If the airbag(s) has been deployed, the SRS unit has to be replaced. See this excerpt from Honda Service News issued years ago.

Re: 97 Honda Accord SRS light
I have a scanner but it doesn't have the capability because it hasn't picked up the code at all. I've got a friend with a body shop that said he can hook the reader up to it and get the code but I have to tow it there oh and the airbags never deployed

Find the little blue connector under the glove box, you want the 2 pin one and jump the 2 pins, turn key to run but not start, count blinks of srs light. Granted if if 5-1 through 5-3, the srs is faulty and you will need to replace that computer. And remember just because the bags do not look deployed that doesn't mean they haven't been deployed and replaced. I replaced both bags and computer in a 94 Camry, and since the car wasn't totaled out, you would never know, they had been
