Default 97 accord cold air

hi i'm new to honda-tech, i installed a cold air intake on my accord and was wondering if they make the car harder on fuel or if i just have another problem

I think the only way it would hurt your fuel efficiency is if the filter is too far gone. It's probably something else. What kind of mileage are you getting?

maybe since you installed the cold air intake you are on the throttle more than usual to enjoy the noise...

i just noticed the rear o2 sensor plug is broke so it's not hooked up, but doesn't that sensor just tell you when the cats bad?

Bank1 Sensor 2 just measures 02 after the cat.

Is your check engine light on? If so, you might be in limp mode, which drastically reduces your gas mileage. Fix the sensor plug and reset the computer.

Do you know what code it was throwing? And having a cold air will not make your mileage worse, it might actually improve it. When I put my AEM short ram I felt a slight increases in MPGs with the same driving style.

sorry i didn't get back sooner, it was throwing code 63, secondary o2 sensor, got it wired up right and engine light off thanks for the help guys

Usually with the added power when the car is warm, people usually run it harder, thereby negating any + mpg.

I know this from experience.

3 days no check engine light, then comes on again today same code 63

Did you pull the sensor itself? They burn out after a while. How many miles are on your car?
