94 sohc vtec performance

Changing Underdrive Pulleys eliminates parasitic drag that ur motor encounters which allows ur engine to rev a bit more freely and frees up some hp. I would go with 15 or 16in rim on race day. Plus if u dont have to carry that many ppl u can always remove that back seat thatll save u some weight. U can also get that Hondata heat gasket which reduces Intake Air Temp, and is relatively cheap.

I know I am going to get nailed to the wall for this....but I am coming from J-body world...AKA Eco-tec land...However here it goes...
What was the first year for the V-tech? I am running a 93 Accord EX but have not learned alot about them yet...

Re: (NAiL05)
"v-tech" was never put into any cars as far as my knowledge goes? but as for VTEC i believe it was the 94 model they started putting it into?
A hondata heat gasket? is that a new gasket for the intake manifold? explain more on that?

Supposedly it provides a bit of a wider gap between ur Intake Manifold and Engine allowing it to dissipate some heat before it reaches into ur engine. My friend recently put one on his prelude and he says it runs better so dunno. U could check out more bout it here >> http://www.hondata.com/heatshieldgasket.html

hey i have, a 94 honda accord ex 4 door, stock f22b1 soch vtec, so im in the same boat as you jagged4698, I want this to make a fast quarter mile time, All my friends tell me to get another car, but i like this car, becuase it looks good, also, doesnt seem like its a fast car, so will trick many ppl... im seeing that the accord gets high 15s, even 16s?
What would the 94 ex accord get, if it was to swap an h22 in there, or maybe get a turbo setup in the f22b1?

h22 w/bolt ons and f22b1 with minor turbo setup should both get you into high 14s. honestly, for a drag car, it's a horrible platform. but like ex_techniques said there's the element of surprise and the fact that it's just a nice car in general.
as for the first VTEC, that'd be 1989 in some japan-only integras. first US car was late 1990 in the NSX. i'm assuming the first accord to get it was in 94 like somebody already said.
i forgot about the hondata headgasket, i've heard good things about that too.

There are lots of stuff you could do to make the car lighter without your car looking like crap. The soundproof tar can be removed. The spare tire. The cruise control (I hate using this thing) Keep the a/c. Go on ebay and buy carbon fiber hood and trunk.
The cheapest way to make power (in my opinion) without a swap or frankenstein motor is go boost. get a 16g dsm turbo with the intake manifold and everything should fit. (I know it does in the cb7's)

Re: (raceACCORDingly)
I ran a 55/75 shot for while and also sold it to go to the turbo setup I have now.
Now that I am finally tuned and everything is all coming together... I can think about building a motor for more boost. I am addicted.
