94 Accord replacement muffler question
I have a 94 Accord and it's time for a new muffler.
Background:
I ran over a deer in 2003 (with a 2.5 inch drop) and tore up my exhaust. I later replaced the exhaust pipe with 2.5 in piping but not the muffler itself. The weld has broken where the pipe meets the muffler and now the muffler needs to go. My wife will likely drive this car from time to time and doesn't like loud exhaust.
My Question:
Does anyone know of a decent muffler (performance wise) that is not ridiculously loud.
Who has used the canister mufflers with the sound deadning inserts, do they work or are they even worth anything?
In my former life (before marriage) I didn't mind the sound of a healthy exhaust note, infact I looked for the performance over sound quality. (ie. Greddy, and Tanabe) My wife however doesn't have that same appreciation of a performance exhaust.
Hence my quest to find a happy medium.
Please share your experiences...
