Default 92 Accord speedo inaccurate. Anyone experienced this?

I have a 92 Accord EX and the speedo is consistently inaccurate. At ~40-50mph it reads about 5mph too low, it is nearly correct at 60mph, and at ~70mph on up it is off by 10mph or more. Any idea what might be causing this, or is it just something innate to Accords of this generation? It is very consistent in that it is always off by the same amount at a given speed and the needle doesn't bounce or anything. Suggestions? TIA

That could happen, and in some cases it could be normal. What are you using to verify the accuracy of your speedometer?

I have compared it to a few other vehicles and also stopwatched lightpoles/mileage markers to confirm that it is in error both high and low. Weird huh?
