well there is an engine difference between lx/ex and dx in the sedan. They are both 2.3l I4's but the dx makes only 135 while the lx/ex makes 150. The v6 models make 200. Other than that there are of course different standard features, some dx models dont even have power windows, so i would at least go for an lx. I would also suggest going form a 99 instead because 98 is the first model year and they always have some bugs the first year.

As for the coupes, there is only an lx and dx

I believe in 2000 they introduced a se which is kinda the model in between lx and ex

the different models for the 6th gen are DX, LX, SE, and EX (DX being the lowest model and EX being the highest). DX doesn't have many standard features as the higher models. The DX, LX, and SE all come with a 2.3L I4. The EX models come with either a V6 or I4 (the LX model does too from 2000 on I think). Also, the DX and LX models come with cloth interior while the SE and EX models come with leather interior. The SE model comes with all the standard features that an EX does but only has an I4 engine.

I've never heard of an Accord Si or SiR here in the states. There is an Accord Type R over seas though.

See i wanna go with a 6th Gen cuz i like tha longer tailights in tha back... (Compared to tha 5th Gen)... So im trying ta learn more about 6th Gens... I was told not to get a 5th Gen V6 cuz those are all automatics and tha I4 has more HP anyways... So i was wondering if that was tha case with tha 6th Gen Accords...

Iono if that made any sense... Im just trying to decide on the Accord with tha most stock HP...(Between 5th and 6th Gens)... So im guessing it would be tha 99 EX with a V6 5spd? (200HP you said)... Right?

well...im not sure how much the 5th gen V6 2.7L engine makes. I kno that the 6th gen V6 3.0L engine makes 200 hp. Every 5th and 6th gen Accord with a V6 engine has an automatic tranny. With the I4 engines, you have the option of a manual or an automatic. Honda didn't start making V6 accords with manual trannys until this year (the 7th gen accords). I don't know where you came to the conclusion that the I4 has more Hp than the V6s.

not true, leather is only an option on the se and ex, not a standard feature. And the siR is only available overseas, i dont think there is such a thing as a si

Leather is not standard on the SE.
Another point, the SE (special edition) model only comes out at the end of life on a body design. (89 LX-i, 93 SE, 97 SE, and 02 SE)

When I bought my '02 SE the dealer told me it was a cross between the LX and EX. This boiled down to an Accord LX I-4 with sunroof, remote locks, and 6 spkr sound system. (and the Special Edition emblem on the back)

To settle all your questions regarding trim levels, you should go to THE website. http://www.hondacars.com/certified/library.asp Click the year and model, then the "more" button and compare for yourself.

I know about the coupes. They come in LX, SE, and EX only. No DX available. You can get V6 in LX or EX. LX has no leather, no sunroof, no alloys, no climate control (reg A/C), not sure about CD (6-disc available EX 01-02). Since the LX V6 has no sunroof it's supposed to be the fastest of the bunch. Stock time are like low 16s so it's not as fast as you think. Careful with automatic transmissions on the V6's because they will break.
