2002 accord Water resevoir overflowing
hi guys. my sister has a 02 accord 4cylinder, has about 130k miles. she was driving on the highway and had to pull over because the cars temperature was at max high. She popped the hood and said that there was water overflowing from the water reservoir and steam. When i got there (about 20min or so) i checked the reservoir and it was empty. so i pour some water in it. i also pour some in the radiator too but only about half a cup then it was full. so i started the engine back up, checked the temp, it was good, around middle. so i drove it back home. got home left engine on and popped the hood. everything seemed normal, checked the exhaust. until i decided to revv the engine. i revved to around 4000rpm and after i let go of the pedal, the car died. did it a couple times and same result. so i stepped out and look at the engine. i heard water being pumped into the water reservoir. i dont know what that means. the temperature was ok. so i decided to post here and see if anyone knows what the problem is. read online that it could be thermostat, rad cap, head gasket, i dont really know. any help would be appreciated. (sorry about grammar, a little late)

The car can stall due to air being trapped inside the cooling system. Also it over heated for a reason, not likely the fans bc she was on the highway but more of a pressure issue. It could be a bad thermostat, radiator or cap etc. You will need to bleed the cooling system and monitor it. If it starts overheating but there is no coolant spraying out I would start by replacing the thermostat once it cools off and try again
