1995 Accord Door Problem
1995 Honda Accord:
Well to start things off ill give you a little back story on my problem. I was driving down the road and noticed my dome and door lights kept on flickering every once and awhile (even more so when going over bumps). So I thought nothing of it really and just turned the dome light off till I got home. I went to look at my speed and noticed that the driver side open door indicator was light up, so I thought maybe my door was still a little bit open. I opened the door closed it by the arm rest thing and the light stayed light up. Well I was light I don’t have time for this and left till I got home. Well I went home and then it was no longer on. It stayed or for maybe a month and now its back.
Things that can cause it : Leaning on the door, bumps and slowing down.
Well its weird it just started doing this out of no where and I can’t figure out why. They only way I can keep it from coming on is if I close the door from the outside or wheel down the window, place my hand by the door Handle and slam it. If I don’t the door does seem to close right, doesn’t sound like its closing right either. I tested all my other doors with the lean test and they all seem fine. Does anyone know why my driver side for its messing up.

I'd suggest you move the latch on the post in a little bit.
You might need a hand type impact driver to get those phillips screws loose.
Mark the side and top with a pencil before you get it loose.

LOL Its funny you should mention that. My door does the same thing. When I make sharp right turns my leg is pushing against the door panel. When I decide to fix it I will post. I will probly look at it this weekend. If it isnt to damned cold!!! :-)

Re: 1995 Accord Door Problem (badandyg)
I'd check your door hinges......With your car door open, push up on the door to see if your door hinges have excess play in them. If so, they are most likely the problem and need replaced. 2dr cars that don't frequently have the door hinges lubricated, will often times 'sag' and cause the doors to not shut properly.... this is more common in 2 dr. cars because the doors are longer and heavier, but I don't see why it couldn't happen on 4 dr. cars as well. Sure you could adjust the switch a bit, but the door hinge ( if it's the problem) will continually get worse until you get more road noise, and eventually the poorly latched door will be a safety hazard as well.
