Default 01-02 accord coupe front bumper conversion

ok. i have a 2002 accord sedan, and i plan on doing a 01-02 accord coupe front bumper conversion. ive done some research and i think all i have to change, besides the bumper, is the hood. now is there anyone out there who has done this. if so will the bumper and hood fit right in or is there other major changes that i would have to look into. i know that the 2dr and 4dr have the same headlights so that means they have the same fenders as well. any coments???

I have done the conversion on my brother's car. You need a 2dr bumper and hood if you want everything to line up perfect. Its pretty much a direct bolt on. Here are some pixs of it before and after it was painted. I did not use a 2dr hood, I just kept the 4dr hood so that is why you see a little gap between the bumper and the hood.

Take a close look at the part where the bumper meets the fender, the lines don't flow together since the 2dr fender is slightly different.

I have done the conversion also I dont think the bumper to fender lines are so bad I think it can be modified to fit nicer if you know what you are doing

I recomend getting the 01-02 coupe upper bumper retainer as well if you go this route

I modified my original 01 sedan brace for a stupid body kit thats still sitting in my parents garage collecting dust for eternity so I am not completly shure about how well the sedan retainer fits the 01-02 coupe bumper since I cut the thing apart

Technically all you need is the bumper and hood, the fenders don't line up 100% with it but it'll fit.

the 01-02 grill is part of the bumper whereas the 98-00 is separate

The bumper retainer is the bracket that attaches to the radiator support, the part that the top portion of the bumper clips on to. I changed mine to a 2dr, but the 4dr is doable. Check out craigslist for bumpers. I just picked up another 2dr 2002 bumper for a buddy of mine that is going to do the conversion as well. I got a good condition oem silver one for $100 bucks. I will post some pixs sometime next week.

go for it......hood,bumper

the 98-00 coupe bumper has one long mouth, doesnt have the 2 square holes(cutouts) on the side like 01-02 coupes, u'll have to mount it

Does anybody know if fog lights fit nicely in the 00-02 2dr front bumper? Anyone got any pics of it with fog lights installed?
