****Engine Swap***** 2000 Accord v6 3.0 engine put into 2002 accord Ex v6 3.0 2dr
watS up,
I just registered to this site after browsing and noticing that there are many intelligent members and honda experts on here.
---I have a 2002 Honda Accord Ex v6 3.0 2-door 53k, it has been involved in a major front end accident. Frame work an body work as been completed. My water pump was damaged and cracked. So it was going to be replaced which would involve the timing belt to be replaced as well for those who do not know that. I come to find out that my engine has a 6inch CRACK. after opening the timing belt it was visible. I was told to have it Welded and sealed, but that would not make the vehicle Reliable. I now purchased a 2000 honda accord v6 3.0 engine with 49kmiles from a local high end salvage yard. I am also getting all of the motor mounts which i was in need of. The engine is in running condition an looks clean also. I feel that i got a good price ? but not sure i paid $650.00....good deal ? bad deal?
--Anyway what im wanting to know is, what does any 1 know specifically about engine swaps. because this engine will now be put into my 02. I do have a mechanic but he is more like a Mom an Pops garage. Not a high end franchise name. He claims he can install with no problem.
Is there any one who can give me some Info and insight about this....pleaseeeeeeeeeeee let me know
-Thank you..greatly appreciated

Re: (StatzFineSt)
sounds like a good deal to me. i would go ahead and do the water pump and any other maintenance items on the motor before you put it in, that way you can start fresh without any worries.
