i understand whut you're saying jesse. pretty much if u run a lower profile tire, u will be "lower" than the same car with equivalent suspension "drop" but the tire will not appear to be as "tucked" becuase it's lower profile.

if u have same tires, same suspension, and u switch to same rims with lower pro tires, ull RUB less and be dropped more.. thats what i think b/c ive done it before, gone from 50 to 45, and 45 to 40. but iono, dont have any real solid evidence just personal experience .. cause thin of it like this.. ur TIres are meaty.. and u DROP it, obviously most ur tire will be under ur fender and "rubbing" but if ur tires arnt as meaty (lower pro) therefore u gonna be lower but tires thinner so u rub less ? 'Theres less tire to tuck so u dont rub as much? but then ull be tuckin rim? iono.. im confused, im done with talkin about tire sizes and stuff lol someone just explain to me once about all this stuff with solid evidence..

Sitting on an offramp of a freeway at a stop light, waiting to make a left turn. In front of me was a Chevy Silverado and no one was behind me at the time. In my rear view, spot 2 headlights running up towards me REAL fast.....minutes later, i look up and see my sunroof. Both front seats collapse backwards, so I sit up and see a FORD ****** FESTIVA bashed behind me. In front of me was the rear axle of the Chevy Silverado.
SO yeah, rear ended by a drunk driver doing about 65, then shoved under the Chevy Silverado for the icing on the cake. Burn...

Re: Slammed DC2's w/ JDM front ends.... POST EM! (JDM DC4 Jesse)
here's whut i wanna say because i get confused easily, but....speedo is by rotation so if ur circumference was smaller (smaller profile) then you would have more rotations per mile thus resulting in a higher speedo read out than whut u were doing. so yes you were going slower than the speedo.
not 100% sure. but when calculated i think it comes out to be 3% off. so 3% of 60 is like 2 mph off? or whutever percentage the circumference is. the odometer would be off as well. both would need to be recalibrated.
someone correct me if i'm wrong?

OK...let me take a stab at this....
Scenario - Going from a car with 45 series tires and changing them to 40 series tires.= The tires will rub less in the fenderwells or not at all, if it previously did. The car itself will be lower to the ground, but no more than 3/4 of an inch.
Reason-The overall diameter of the tire is reduced. This will make the distance from the tire to the fenderwell larger, at the same time bring the car down a little bit. Remember, the tire is circular shaped, so reducing or enlarging the diameter will lower or raise the overall height at sections.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nathanong87 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">here's whut i wanna say because i get confused easily, but....speedo is by rotation so if ur circumference was smaller (smaller profile) then you would have more rotations per mile thus resulting in a higher speedo read out than whut u were doing. so yes you were going slower than the speedo.

I believe thats correct....But the only thing is once you recalibrate the Speedometer, the Odometer will already be recalibrated.
