Since I can't go any lower in the front, I wonder if this will work. Rest the spring on the perch and put the threaded collar on top?

Putting the collar on top wont get you any lower. Take it out if thats what youre trying to do.

That's what I was going to ask, was it ok just to use the spring without the collar? I just want to do it on the rear.

idk what shocks you have but if you have a sleeve coilover you can take the threaded part out and leave the spring there
