Im relocating my fusebox to my trunk beside the battery. The stock alternator wire is about 8 gauge. What would be sufficient to run from the engine bay back to the fusebox for the alternator? One person said they use two 6 gauge wires to equal the amp flow of 0 gauge but that seems like over kill. Would 1 6 with an in line fuse be sufficient?

How about a single 4. It's big enough to handle the load but small and pliable enough to not interfere with anything.

Im gonna have that 4 gauge a 0 gauge and all the fusebox wires running to the trunk. makes me nervous haha

found this website might be helpful to others for wiring endeavors http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm Im not sure if the alternator wire would be classified as "maximum amps for chassis wiring" or "maximum amps for power transmission"

Ohh, well than 6 should suffice as long as you're not going to have any amplifiers or anything pulling more than the factory system already does. However, I wouldn't mount the fuse box in the trunk.

why wouldnt you put the fusebox in the trunk? I got the idea from this https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...34564&page=198 If you check my build thread I have the fusebox relocation started

i'd pay 1000 with those problem. if the owner feels he's being lowballed he probably wont take it. 600-700 is a steal. motoring sitting for awhile can cause seals to go bad and cause smoke. but there always ways to test to see where the cause is coming from. go for it.

You could always try $500 cash but have the extra in your pocket just incase. Did you try all of the electronics?

yea leak down and pressure test would tell you the problem if diagnose correctly.

heater is more than likely going to work. the ac..well you said yourself that its ok if it doesnt perform correctly. but then again for an EX, i'd still pay that much. but try $500 and see if it goes anywhere.

me personally would concentrate on the exterior. the EX sounds like its in great shape, but i guess its different for everyone. good luck and report back

Just ordered my mounts for the EF, cable to hydro conversion kit, OBD0-OBDI jumper harness, and P30 ECU. Once the parts come in, B series project will be in the works.

P.S. Can I get a EF Squad number or do I have to wait till my swap and all of the exterior fixes are completed?
