I just read a few pages to catch up. Been busy with the car and the misc bs in life. I finally took the time to add all the parts I had sitting in storage and fix some of the things wrong with the hatch. I'll probably be back to my usual h-t schedule next week.

so this weekend. wow. absolutely wild. so i have tried to surround myself with people with a decent amount of experience and track time. basically people who have been here and done it before. when i couldnt attend the nasa event at putnam due to work obligations i looked for other groups to run with at putnam to finish out the season. one group came up..i had a guy named aaron tell me about this group at itr expo. at the time he drove a ttc s2000 and was flat fast. i contacted one of his friends about running with them and he said that i should sign up for the red(advanced) group. i am very confident in myself on track but had never done open passing. as in open passing with no point no nothing..just pass at will aka racing without times. i didnt know the type of cars that would be out there and later i checked the site. then i thought hmmm this might get interesting. so i pull in on saturday morning and it is serious cars everywhere. anything from z06s with huge wings to z06s with a huge rear wing and a small front wing ie rado to a 800whp gtr to 750+hp mustangs. lol. wild wild stuff..
so time to hit the track..our red group meeting got out a bit late. i didnt have time for air but enough to make sure i had them equal. so i go out with 28/29 psi which is super super super low for me..let alone it being 55 degrees out. i said to myself ill just go out and cruise. well under full yellow..warm up lap..i go into 7 and get on the brakes hard to get heat in the front tires. rear end goes out and i smash on it to correct it..it kicks back..i correct out of it. ok calm down take it easy..brake in a straight line into 8. i turn in and now im in formula d..ok im pitting. i pit and get air in. great now im going out with all these dudes with heat in their tires etc. pit marshall waves me out and i get on it gently. i had just hit 4th gear at my 60mph and a full race panoz goes by followed by a z06 at probably 125+. i thought to myself..ummm what did i get myself into.
i went out and drove very defensively. as the day progressed it got a ton better. i started planning the passes etc to just help the overall flow. on saturday we had some spec miatas in our group so i got to pass one. lol. other than that i got to experience off line passing..side by side turn in..etc. by the end of the day the track was seriously sloppy. the "race" line was the only clean line. ohhh and also i did have an off on one of my early session on saturday.
now to sunday and ill make it short and sweet. ABSOLUTE BLAST. i was used to their speeds and power. i understood what needed to be done when it needed to be done. i had one close call..i had an american iron mustang pass me and i gave him every bit of the track as i was far track left. well he hit the kink.s curb pushed him out and he missed my front bumper with his rear by inches. my cam batteries were done after the first session but i didnt know. so my last 3 sessions i only got like 30 seconds of each soooo i didnt get that on video. caaarrrrrrrrrap. my parents came out as well as brandy and our daughter plus her parents. it is fun to pedal in front of them. for some reason it makes me feel more comfortable to drive in front of them.
im glad i took the advice and signed up for this group/organization. at first i wondered why i did but at the end of the weekend i knew why i did. this was my last track event of the year but i can tell you i am super stoked for next year already! video will be up in a few.

The one stat that doesn't show, the one that's been leading to most of their offensive problems, is Romo's lack of leadership. His players are acting like idiots because, on the field, he's the head coach, and a you can look and tell that Tony isn't saying anything to anyone, lol.
For sure...congrats to Luis. I need to pick up one of them rear hatch glass thumb tabs for mine. Feels like I'm destroying the weatherstripping every time I stick my finger in the window crack to open the hatch.
