the gen 3 and gen 4 v8's gm offers.. started with the ls1 off of which came the ls2, ls3, ls6, ls7, and ls9.. all the gen 3 and 4 v8's are the same basic small block engine platform.. the popular versions(the ones mentioned) are found in the corvette, the ls1 being in the late 4th gen camaro/trans am's. anyhow, the ls1 has made quite the name for itself.. all the gen 3 and 4 motors share the same aftermarket, so the 99+ trucks can also make use of the vette/f-body aftermarket.

the 8.1 is a big block motor.. a 496ci I believe, only available in 3/4 ton suv's and trucks.. it's output isn't that impressive and there isn't much of an aftermarket for it.

anyhow, lots of people get maintenance done early... especially cars in the 70k region, because the owners are likely to get 100k maintenace done early and sell the vehicle for a new one. haven't you ever noticed alot of cars sell with 60-80k miles on them?

naw it doesnt. i wish it did. i had to cut quite a bit out of the faces and dremel out parts of the EH cluster to make it work. the tach went in with out probems i think...i forget it been awhile

 

Whats up squad well today i lost a dear friend. My 15y/o basset hound passed away sometime during the night or early this morning we believe it was either a heartattack or maby just old age but he will be missed greatly.
He was my best friend of all and always was around anytime whenever you needed him

i was gonna get it tyll he said that he needed a dealer paper or something like that ,,,i was like WTF, my guess was that he wanted the money to pay it off n then received the pink slip for me,,im like when u get the pink slip call me tyll then....

i poured some for him last night then i drank away the sorrow haha. but that was a great dog. easilly one of my best friends now i just gotta think of what to do with his stuff
