Lone time, no post for me.

 

couple new pics squad, what do you think of the new shoes? their a buddies but we threw them on while were dropping the tranny for a new exedy clutch







also how much trouble is it to drop the trans out of the bottom of the car?

 

It's very easy man, yank both axles, bust the rear mount (leave it attached to the crossmember) and then pop off the pass side mount (leaving one tranny bolt in that's easy to get to).

Take a pry bar and separate the tranny from the block enough to move it by hand.

Lean over the fender, grab it, pull back and let it down.


When you take the pass mount off, the tranny and motor are going to lean down a LOT, it's ok, it won't hurt anything, just makes it easier to set the tranny on the ground.


Nice wheels as well, I am looking for a set in black myself.

what's the difference if its something nice or not? looks aren't going to affect driveability... with that said, my g35 will be a stick.. and a few months ago I almost bought Brian's hatch as a DD and it was also a stick... manual cars just make flat commutes funner :imo

are those 15s? I began my quest of getting p1's a while ago but they are 16s for my ek... in black

if i were u i wouldn't worry too much about new shoes, or dropping the tranny. u got a rust infestation going on in ur car. better get that taken care of..

i was waiting for the rust comment, no one said anything about the fender tho lol, yea the rust is a problem i will prolly fix it this winter if i can find a 1/4 panel replacement.

the wheels are 15's but the funny thing is my 16's weighed about the same give or take 2-3lbs

yea that fender is pretty beat, i noticed it yet didnt feel like telling anyone to fix anything with my passanger side fender being in the condition it is

I say that cuz I live in LA where you are almost always bound to be stuck in traffic. Believe me, it's no fun in the hatch or my bro's civic when I'm stuck in traffic. But if I was in a 6-speed M3, I dont think I'd care as much. By nice, I didn't just mean looks....includes how nice the interior is, etc.

I don't know man... my experience says you'll be just as annoyed in an m3 than if you were in a rusted out 80's toyota camry. the interior could be nice as all hell, but if you're used to the interior(which if its your car, you should be) you're going to hate the traffic all the same.

 

sitting in traffic with a 5spd is a bitch especially when your on any type of incline, i had to sit in it for 2hrs and i was ready to just leave the car and walk

 

i hate autos, i so rather be in a manual in traffic then an auto.

my b series hatch gets better mpg than my sohc/vtec eg8!

 

I've driven manual so much more than auto that im used to it enough that it doesnt bother me in any situation really. Then again we dont really have heavy traffic around here. But auto makes for a pretty boring drive imo. Unless you have a really nutty clutch, but even my act 6 puck doesnt bother me.

AMEN BROTHA!!! lol.. we've had this convo how many times on trips to LA?? haha.. thats when we pull the seat all the way forward and mobb over the grapevine with smiles on our faces!! HAHA
