could my clutch problem also be the reason y it grinds on 5th gear? i never power shift to 5th so i dont understand why it will grind...if i granny shift when the rpms are low it goes in fine...anything above 4,000 rpms grinds....hopefully its the clutch and its an easy fix...

i have a feeling jcarothers is right... your clutch might be super dead. same thing happened to friend of ours. clutch pretty much fell apart when he pulled it out

could be... sometimes though, a clutch can get killed by a failing slave or master clutch cylinder.. it might be smart to atleast change the slave since they're cheap enough and you'll want to bleed the clutch fluid after installing a new one anyway, changing the slave is seriously like a 10 second job, but you don't have to do it if you don't want to.

Damn expletive this hot weather... Hitting 95's ain't cool at all, so hot and humid... Well guy's looks like I'm gonna do my swap for sure this week, said "f" the B18b idea and I'm going with the 1rst. Gen. jdm OBD1 B16 motor swap cause my homie's shop said he'll do that motor/swap for $2,400 or a jdm GSR motor for $3,100 but don't got that kinda money right now. Hopefully the swap will get done maybe by sometime this Thursday and I'll take pic's of how my ride currently look's with it's Mugen RNR's.

That isn't the exact swap but was just correcting the error, and my friend said it's a hydro tranny and he's saying the motor is from the EG6 SiR...? So I'm guessing 2nd. Gen.

same as any other motor.. all smog equipment must meet the requirements for that year motor, you need the stock ECU(have fun finding a stock unmolested USDM H22 ECU btw), the motor must be same year or newer... blah blah blah, you know the rest.

it sounds like the motor is an xsi(if its like the one in the link) which is early obd1, and the trans is from another motor.. you might want to know what trans you're getting. I don't know why but a B16 with an ls trans doesn't seem like much fun at face value... then again, neither does a car with a blown head gasket..
