LMAO! I keep it 1 hunnid!
Nothing wrong with rwd but I wouldn't say its right wheel drive lol. Certainly like other cars as well, how can one not like other platforms! Looks like a good time out on the X. Those tires are probably pretty wild for the sizing and type of rubber.

Yeah I mean thats why there's not right wheel driving. Every occasion calls for a certain type. RWD in snow is not what I would call right wheel drive. Awd in that case would be. Each platform trumps in it's own way. For racing yes I agree rw is typically the best because of total package and not having drivetrain losses like you would with an awd. Just depends what you're doing really! Personally is love to own an S2K or NSX one day.

Had to get all BUCKgabusFACEwildFAB on a client's side marker install yesterday.
PasswordJDM sent him two 94-01 Integra side markers with only one metal spring clip so I had to improvise.

Just in time for winter..........
Nice car, reminds me of my "street going cousin".
Quick, but long story from over the weekend. Brandy has a dentist at her office that is female and said that "she wanted to be the first, female IndyCar driver, but Sarah Fisher beat her to it." Which is cool, but not true. haha. Anyways, she and her boyfriend wanted to put on a couples' racing league at Fastimes.
I, due to my weight and overall fitness level, didn't want to do it, mainly due to my "pride". I figured that I would be crap and wouldn't do worth a lick. I didn't tell Brandy that, but kind of pushed off the thought of doing it. Well, she paid for it, anyway. So, there was no turning back, I'm in.
I had been in the gym pretty routine, but the eating was not there. Luckily, last week, I had decided to get back at it. Saturday afternoon, I decided to hit the pool. Sunday morning, I felt every bit of that. Uh oh, maybe a bad move, oh well.
We(Brandy and I) know Dr. Rake and Amanda, a hygentist, going in. Other than that, Amanda's boyfriend is coming, who works with Dr. Rake's boyfriend at Bridgestone. They also had another coworker who has done some track events in his Mustang. Another person, from what Brandy told me, was a 20 year old guy that Dr. Rake and her boyfriend met at Fastimes. So, I'm thinking that the odds are now stacked against us.
We show up and everyone(7 "couples") get settled in. There is an older couple and they look like drag racers because they show up in their "jackets". There is another dentist, who is paired with the 20 year old. There is another couple, they had never been there before. Amanda hadn't been there, but her boyfriend had. And, he had recently ran a 5k, haha, so I know he has to be in decent shape. Their co-worker, Nahdem(sp?) clocks in at 130lbs and has track experience, and to add to that, his partner works at Fastimes. Then, you have Dr. Rake and her boyfriend. They obviously go to Fastimes, but their background beyond that, I don't think is much. BUT, they have their own matching helmets, suits that are custom embroidered and have patches, rib protectors, neck rolls, and Pumas. I used to frequent Fastimes, A TON, but that was easily 4 or 5 years ago. Avijit used to go often, as well. At my lighter weight, 180-185lbs, I would consistently be 23.1-23.3, with my personal best of a 22.7-9, I can't remember. I have been twice in the past 2-3 years, with my weight between 245-265, and my best times being 24.3-24.4. Brandy used to go, even longer than that, but when the guy died there, she was done.
Starting order was by the kart number that you drew. We drew last and she got us kart #25. So, that put us in 3rd starting spot. I knew going in that I had an idea of where to coast to "pace" myself. But, I was still timid about what my performance would be. Anyways, they had said that we would each run three 20 minute stints. So, I was trying to pace myself for that. The girl starting p1 was the one who worked there and the guy starting p2 was the one who had never been there. My "racecraft" instincts kicked in. I knew that she would know what she was doing, whether she was fast or not, we would find out. The guy in p2, I knew he was a sitting duck. They said in the drivers' meeting that you went soon as the green flag flew. So, there we were sitting in a staggered standing start grid(as you see in F1, etc). The flagger walked up and said "OK, no bumping and visors down. In 3, 2(flag starts to raise, so I know it is coming early),.." flag is up. I immediately go left, already p2. I have the lead by lap 1.
Now, the game plan takes shape, I "charged" for the first 4 or 5 laps and got a big gap. So, now the "coast" gameplan takes shape. It works like a charm, then something else kicks into my head, if I get up to a lapper, "GET 'EM!!". So, I would get a couple corners back from the lapper and charge after them, once I passed them, I would keep that pace for a lap to get the gap, then back to "coasting". I think I lapped everyone except for 2nd and 3rd place. After my stint, I'm "feeling good". Especially since they said the first stint would be the "longest", so put your "best" person in.
Brandy did her job in the second stint, not spin and keep the lead. Going into my second stint or 3rd overall, we had the lead. I got out and kept up the "coasting" method and pushed when I needed to. We had a lot of yellows which I used to my advantage as much as possible. One instance, there was someone who spun in the hairpin, the person in front of me slowed down, but NO YELLOW. I went on by, then the yellow came out a few turns later. Later in the stint, someone spun right before going downstairs, that caused the person behind them to spin, then the person in front of me spun. So, I weaved my way through and headed downstairs. One worker stopped me and told me not to pass under yellow, but they had all spun. Oh well, Brandy was already downstairs waiting for me to pit. We are still p1.
Again, she does her job and we are still p1. My third stint and what I thought was my final one. I went out to open track and it pretty much stayed that way. I had passed the 20 year old and got a pretty big gap, then a yellow came out. I got behind someone who was putting along and he used that to close the gap. He had about 10 laps behind me, I knew the pit order, so I hadn't been passed and that became by objective. I kept him behind until I came in. The pit stop was kind of lengthy, which hurt us, but we were at a disadvantage due to size difference of the two. Not by height, but by Rick Ross MMG, Massive Man Gut, something that Brandy doesn't have. So, every stop, the harnesses had to be adjusted, etc. I took extra time helping her get in there tight because I thought it was our last stint and we were up a full lap.
Again, she does her job and we are p1. I am walking down for now my 4th stint, 7th overall, and SHE GETS DUMPED. This isn't a spin where she can drive out of it, she is against the wall. Flippin' blankitty blank!! Again, longer pit stop due to size and the harness adjustment. Also, the first stint wasn't bad, but with me having a big head and "big" shoulders made the neck collar "ride stupid". So, basically my eyes were level with the bottom of my visor for the last three stints, which SUCKED. Oh well, I had driven there for so many times, I knew all the "spots".
Anyways, my last stint, I had the same game plan. I knew the #32 kart was our only competition, so stay ahead of them. I actually didn't feel "bad" or maybe I was just numb to it. I kept chuggin' along and didn't really have much traffic. But, again, the "racecraft" kicked in, at one point. So, I didn't have the fast lap, anymore, Amanda's boyfriend got me by two tenths, they were down several laps. I saw the big picture, so I was aiming for first. Anyways, back to the racecraft deal. So, there is a yellow and we are about to go upstairs, he is in front and obviously I am behind him. There is a yellow light next to us, but we are about to pass it, and you can't see the one upstairs. I then look at the corner worker, next to us, he signals thumbs up to the main stand and begins to pull out the green. I go, I pass him, not knowing who it is at the time. So, 3-5 laps go by and I can't shake him. I then know that it is him, as I said, they are several laps down and I didn't want to take the chance of him punting me. I had been taking the defensive line and still coasting, so I could make it to the end. I finally waved him by, the only time that I got passed all day. Sucks, but again, big picture.
I hand the kart over to Brandy, in first, at the time. But, somehow when all the pit stops shuffled through, we were second. I was pissed for a split second, then I realized, this is a lot better than I had expected and given the circumstances, HECK YES!!
She brings it home in second and she doesn't know where we were, but her competitive side came out which was fun to see. She had some trash to talk and she took offense to some stuff that was said prior and while I was running the first stint. The 20 year old in the drivers' meeting said "Of course, the heavier person will run slower times." She didn't like that at all. Then, when I jumped into the lead, someone said "Wow, Brad is already in first." Her telling me the story was followed by something like "Yeah, you shouldn't have overlooked him, he just blew all your doors off!!!" Jit knows how she is, so to see her fired up like that, I was stoked because well, I'm a tad competitive.
There are supposed to be 7 or 8 races, the entry is a bit pricey, but to me it is worth it. After seeing her reaction afterwards, it got me hooked. I like to see that side of her and it is something that I enjoy doing. So, having her enjoy it with me just makes it that much better.
