man ....i missed a bunch...we've had freak summer like weather so i've been in the garage
quick question
any one here have experience with k-sport coilovers? i bumped to a slightly taller tire and i wanted it about an inch lower last year....so i was finally getting around to lowering them....well they are adjusted all the way down?!? the k-sports have the double perches for the springs and a lower perch to thread the strut into the mounting body thing....well there screwed all the way in...to go lower do i really need to mess with the spring perchs? or should i just leave it, i bought them adjusted like this and there is preload on the springs which is good, i dont want to lose that but i dont know how much pr load is on them either

i bought them used....and i was told they were on an integra that was "salmmed" and he got them off an eg...they are only a couple years old though and work great...
im just not sure if i should mess with the spring perch's...i know the springs are preloaded right now. when you raise the car on a jack the spring cannot move and has tention on it....i just dont know how much tention....guess i was seing if anyone had used them before and had to mess with the spring perch's as i have about a 1/2-1 finger gap on the rear wheels adjusted all the way down....well i didnt adjust the back, i tried adjusting the fronts but the front and back sit level, so it i cannot lower the front whats the point in lowering the rear

ok...i just know the preload helps at the drag strip...it only allows for so much weight transfer...at a cetain point it cant pull the weight off the front anymore or the wheels will come off the ground....which cannot happen in a fwd....and i can jack up my front and the wheels only drop maybe an inch lower than they sit on the ground
i also dont want my springs bounceing around and moving

Preloading at the strip is different. It's when you Pre stage, yank the ebrake and release clutch to drag yourself into a deep stage and holding it when you are deep. As the tree falls, drop the brake and clutch simultaneously.
not talking bout preloading in that sence...yes i know what preloading is and how to do it...that to preload the axles, diff and gears so there is no sudden slamming that causes things to explode off the line, its to get all the play out
im talking about having preload on springs...it acts like limiting straps/chains....having good preload will limit the travel on the front suspention during launching the car

if you are unloading your front springs when you launch, put stiffer springs in the rear or more rear psi. small bandaids for that fix.
I don't think i've ever heard of someone unloading front springs during launch on ages car lol. My car lifts but that was because I was on soft rear rates.
